GENERAL NUTRITION

A Link Between Multivitamins and Decreasing the Risk of Heart Attacks

Recently a study in the Journal of Nutrition revealed that people who take a daily multivitamin supplement experienced fewer heart attacks that those who do not.  The study showed that males had 22 percent fewer heart attacks and females had 33 percent fewer heart attacks when compared to those who do not take multivitamins.

Nutrition in Cancer Prevention

The American Cancer Society, the National Academy of Sciences, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Cancer Institute have indicated that most all cancers are produced as a result of dietary and nutritional practices, multiple environmental factors, chemicals, and lifestyle.

A large amount of evidence has been presented which suggests antioxidant nutrients help protect the body from cancer.  Fruits and vegetables and supplements that contain them supply the body with protection it needs for trillions of cells.

Example:

The author Block1 reported the association between vitamin C and cancer prevention.  Several studies have examined the role of vitamin C and/or vitamin C containing foods in cancer prevention.  Strong evidence that reveal the relationship from cancers of the oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, and pancreas with the ingestion of diets rich in vitamin C.
